Investor's note

Elizabeth is the Founder/CEO of Speakeasy, a company offering interactive, online events led by fascinating speakers and performers. The company’s vision is to bring the vibrancy of a university campus to you, wherever you happen to be.

Prior to founding Speakeasy, she was the CMO at Khan Academy, a non-profit educational organization created to provide "a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere". Prior to that, she spent three years as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company. Elizabeth graduated with a BA in History from the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently based in the Bay Area in California.

Why Elizabeth joined ODF:

I joined On Deck because I wanted to be part of a strong community of early-stage founders. I also liked the idea of participating in a defined program with all of the structure and resources On Deck makes available to founders.

Who On Deck is perfect for:

I highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about starting a company. It’s a great place to feel like you’re not alone on what can be the very lonely journey of starting a company.

What she walked away with:

I met an amazing community of people who have become friends and co-supporters. Even though the program was only eight weeks long, I’ve stayed in close contact with many of the people I met during the Fellowship.

Biggest success through On Deck:

People I met through On Deck introduced me to my lead investor and helped me get the domain for my company (speakeasy.com).
